FreightMath Platform
The P&L for your freight network.
FreightMath is the only Activity-Based Costing platform purpose-built for truckload carriers. Every GL dollar is standardized through MapLedger, allocated using five mathematically defensible methods, and landed on the exact load, lane, and customer that incurred it. The result is true load-level profitability — not estimates, not averages, not industry guesses.
Segment Level Costing
From GL to load — a four-stage pipeline.
Precision is iterative. The First Facts are usually wrong — FreightMath replaces them with a feedback loop that sharpens every period until your cost picture is undeniable.
MapLedger
Your GL mapped to the FreightMath Standard COA — every account classified by cost category, operation type, and labor group.
Allocation Routing
Each account tagged with its allocation method (V, O, P, T, or D) so costs route to the correct pool.
Segment Distribution
Costs distributed across operational segments using the driver that best explains each cost — miles, hours, or direct assignment.
Load-Level Landing
Every dollar lands on the segment, load, lane, customer, and driver that incurred it — with a full GL-to-load audit trail.
Five Allocation Methods
Every cost finds its mathematically correct home.
Variable
Total Costing Miles (CPM)
Costs that move with the truck — fuel, driver wages, maintenance, insurance, permits, lumper, and escorts. Allocated by miles so load-level burden is exact.
Overhead
Hours Under Power (CPH)
Fixed equipment and non-driver costs — revenue equipment depreciation, non-driver compensation, technology, and G&A. Allocated by time, not miles.
Pre-Standard
Direct Assignment
Operation-wide overhead and driver/owner-operator payroll settlement costs assigned directly to the segment where the work occurred.
Tolls
Actual Lane Routing
Highway, bridge, and ferry tolls allocated by actual lane routing — not averages. Every toll dollar lands on the segment that incurred it.
Trailer Pool
Trailer-Days by O/D Location
Drop-trailer ownership costs allocated by trailer-days at each pool location, so the cost of holding iron is charged to the customers who benefit.
Operating Ratio Model
Four dimensions. One complete picture.
Most platforms give you one OR number. FreightMath gives you four — each measuring a different dimension of your network's profitability. Together, they tell the whole truth.
Core OR
The load itself — linehaul revenue against all direct variable and overhead costs. The purest measure of whether a move makes money.
Inbound OR
Profitability of finding freight into your origin market. Captures the cost and quality of your inbound repositioning.
Outbound OR
Profitability of freight leaving your delivery market. Reveals backhaul efficiency and deadhead exposure at the destination.
FreightMath OR
The composite — all four dimensions unified into a single network-aware operating ratio. The only number that tells the whole truth.
Analytical Dashboards
A structured workflow from triage to insight.
FreightMath's 15+ dashboards are organized around a recommended weekly analytical sequence — Home → Revenue/Volume Change → Profitability Matrix → Areas of Profit → Price Impact — so every session builds toward a decision.
Special Cost Treatments
Built for how trucking actually works.
Standard ABC models break when applied to truckload operations. FreightMath includes purpose-built treatments for the edge cases that distort your numbers.
Team Driver Premium
Team driver costing miles are weighted ~37% above solo to reflect the premium operational cost of two-driver equipment.
Reefer Fuel by Temperature
Reefer fuel is allocated by temperature category — Dry, Chilled, Frozen, Deep Frozen — so refrigerated freight carries its actual unit fuel burden.
Workday Model
Overhead is weighted by weekday, weekend, and holiday to prevent calendar-driven month-to-month distortion in period comparisons.
Deadhead Attribution (PRE / POST / SPLIT)
Three models control how empty-segment costs are attributed. PRE charges the next order, POST charges the prior order, SPLIT divides 50/50. All preserve total network cost.
